The Government concluded an agreement with LO (trade unions) and DA (employers organization) to raise the number of work experience placements open to students in vocational colleges (almost 12,000 students are still waiting for placements). The agreement looks to: bolster support for these students; appoint more consultants whose focus is to visit businesses and strengthen their links with the colleges; and also to disseminate current best practices to all the colleges in the kingdom.
“Over recent years we have adopted several provisions to cater for an increasing number of students completing their training including work experience. Unfortunately many of these students are still waiting for placements. These new measures raise the chances of them getting a placement during their college program,” stated the Minister for Education, Christine Antorini while presenting on October 30 the agreement between DA and LO.
