From 1 January 2026, Dutch collective agreements for temporary employment agencies will alter the employment conditions of temp workers. Agencies will be required to pay these workers at least the same as permanent staff in equivalent roles at the client company. The move comes ahead of a parliamentary vote on broader legislation to protect 'flexible' workers, which is currently under debate.
According to BIBB figures, around 476,000 apprenticeship contracts were signed in 2025, around 10,300 fewer than in the previous year (-2.1%). At the same time, the number of training places on offer has fallen significantly, with 25,300 fewer apprenticeship places reported compared to 2024, a decrease of 4.6%.
