Econocom is Belgium’s first business group to adopt Societas Europaea (SE) status. In 2006 when the company employed a modest 3,000 it set up a European Works Council (EWC) that has become, with only minor changes in how it operates, the works council for the new SE. However its objective has been clarified, and that is to work towards developing a global social basis for all of the group’s employees worldwide.
