On Wednesday, July 2, the European Commission adopted a report on the implementation of the social partners' autonomous agreement on telework. It evaluates the positive measures in the application of the agreement, while pointing to certain elements which need to be improved. (Ref. 080569)
Signed in 2002, the agreement on telework is the first autonomous agreement negotiated by the European social partners (ETUC, EUROCADRES/CEC, BUSINESSEUROPE, UNICE, CEEP, UEAPME). This agreement, which hasn’t been turned into a directive and which will be implemented by the national social partners, aims to promote telework establishing a legal framework to ensure that this new form of workers will get the same working conditions compared with other employees working at the employer’s premises.
