EU: Directive on disclosure of non-financial information adopted

On September 29, 2014 the EU Council of Ministers adopted the Directive on disclosure of non-financial and diversity information. Large companies, banks and insurance companies, each with more than 500 employees, will be required to disclose information, in their management reports, on topics such as their environmental impact, social and personnel relations, respect of human rights and their combat against corruption.

The European Parliament previously agreed these measures in February 2014 in a move guaranteeing its subsequent formal adoption by the Council. It will now be published in the EU Official Journal. The EU Members will have 2 years to transpose this Directive into their legislation.
