EU: election of the new ETUC leadership team

According to re-elected ETUC General Secretary Luca Visentini, the new ETUC leadership team that was elected during the 14th Congress (which closes on 24 May) is both representative of Europe’s various regions as well as of the different trade union streams. Four Confederal Secretaries will be working to support the General Secretary. The Praesidium comprises the President, Laurent Berger, General Secretary of the French CFDT union along with three other major leaders from the major European trade union organizations.

Flanking Luca Visentini, who was re-elected with 76.6% of the vote, stands Deputy General Secretary Esther Lynch (Ireland) who secured 84.7% of the vote and Liina Carr (Estonia) with 75.8% of the vote.
