EU: flex-security, labor market and labor law evolutions on the agenda of the European Commission for the coming months

During a conference of the Finnish Presidency on last October 16th, the Commissioner in charge of Social affairs and Equal Opportunities, Vladimir Spidla, introduced the projects that the Commission will launch in the coming months: elaboration of common principles on flex-security and two communications on the job market and labor law evolutions. A draft communication on flex-security. The Commissioner wishes that Member States agree, by the end of 2007, on a series of principles regarding flex-security (combination of flexibility and security). The European Commission should introduce, after the spring Council, a draft communication which will be followed by the adoption of a series of common principles.
