Ten years ago, UNI Europa, the European trade union federation for the services sector, and ETNO, the Association representing Europe’s leading providers of digital networks and services, produced a set of guidelines for good health, which highlighted examples of best practice and made recommendations, for employers and workers, on how to improve mental well-being in the workplace. So as to adjust to the rapid technological changes and the evolution of the ICT sector over recent years, the two bodies have put together a brochure, entitled 'Good Work, Good Health Guidelines'. These form a practical tool for companies in the sector, to help them foster well-being in the workplace by developing “healthy” working arrangements and by encouraging their employees to lead “healthy” lives.
Healthy work organisation. The first point that social partners in the ICT sector agree to set out is that work organisation can help ensure good mental health. “Tasks need to be planned so that they are achievable, safe to undertake and (as far as possible) rewarding for the person carrying them out.
