On 4 December, the European Commission launched the first phase of consultation with social partners with a view to a European directive on jobs, which is scheduled for the end of 2026. It could cover algorithmic management, health and safety, subcontracting and collective bargaining.
A document launching the consultation with social partners under Article 154 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) was published by the Commission on 4 December. It was issued alongside a communication on the Quality Jobs Roadmap, which emphasises the need to strengthen collective bargaining, at a time wheb coverage rates are declining, according to Roxana Mïnzatu, Vice-President for Skills.
