The European Commission addressed, on June 27, 2007, a motivated notice to the ten member States because they have not notified the dispositions taken to comply with the directive 2003/59 on the training of professional drivers. This directive makes it mandatory to have an initial qualification and continuous training for the drivers of road vehicles assigned to the transportation of merchandise or travelers. (Ref. 070581)
The directive 2003/59 concerning initial qualification and continuous training for the drivers of some road vehicles assigned to the transportation of merchandise or travelers, was to be transposed into the member States’ legislation by September 10, 2006.
