EU: the European Commission tries to take up demographic challenges

The College of Commissioners should adopt on next October 12th a communication which reminds the problems linked to the ageing of the working population and offers orientations for reforms to be implemented in order to tackle the demographic challenge. This communication will also open a consultation of the European social partners on a better work/life balance. It will be up to them to decide if they want to deal with this issue and negotiate an agreement. (Ref. 06996)
