EU : the European Qualifications Framework should be effective in 2010

In a statement adopted last December 5th, the European ministers in charge of education and the national social partners have promised to act in order to make operational, within 2010, the tools elaborated at the European level and which must enable to compare vocational training and adult training: the most important, the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) which is due to become a reference for the qualifications and diplomas delivered in 32 countries. Governments and national social partners have promised to conduct the necessary national steps so that the EQF and the European Credits Transfer System for professional education and professional training be operational in 2010.
