In January 2006, 18 of the 25 Member States of the EU had national legislation setting statutory minimum wages. The level of this minimum was between 129 euros per month in Latvia and 1.503 euros per month in Luxembourg, according to a study published by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities.
