EU: the possibility of the adoption of the recast EWC directive by the end of the year is increasingly likely

"The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) is seeking a successful, early resolution to the recast Directive on European Works Councils by the end of the year". This message was sent on October 16 to the European Parliament so the latter, convinced of the union world's support to the current draft revision, can proceed to an early adoption of its report. The goal is for the French presidency to permanently adopt the text by the end of the year. To facilitate talks within European institutions, the European Social Partners agreed on a new wording of article 13 to clarify the scope of the new window for derogation agreements. (Ref. 080800)
