The July 24, 2006 law gives a right to stay citizens from European countries (EU, EEA, and Switzerland) performing a professional activity in France as well as inactive students with a health insurance and resources important enough not to fall under the responsibility of welfare support. The right to stay is also open to certain family members, with changing conditions whether they are community citizens or not.
