On 3 May, France’s labour ministry released a national protocol on the easing of lockdown aimed at businesses, which seeks to make sure activities can resume on 11 May, as planned, in a secure health and safety environment. The protocol stipulates, among other things, that remote working should be favoured, that each person should have at least four square metres of space, that screening by employers is prohibited and that taking temperatures is not recommended and must in any case be accompanied by guarantees.
The protocol for companies during the gradual lifting of lockdown recommends, as a priority, that work should be reorganised, with remote working given the priority and “the rule whenever it can be implemented”. If employees absolutely need to be present in the workplace, other organisational measures should be put in place, such as the “sequencing of activities and the introduction of staggered working hours”.
