The summary application brought by Uni Europa, CGT and Unite against Manpower, aiming to prove that Manpower France is the representative of the American temporary work group in Europe, in order to secure the establishment of a statutory works council following French labor law, was dismissed. The interim judge declares that he isn’t competent. The case could stop here unless the plaintiffs decide to turn to the trial judge.
On July 17, 2014, the Court of First Instance of Paris issued an ordinance rejecting the summary application submitted by Uni Europa – the European trade union -, CGT – the French union -, and Unite – the British union -, on the grounds of “ManpowerGroup Management obstructing the establishment of a European Works Council, willingly and fraudulently causing the establishment of a Special Negotiating Body (SNB) to fail” (see article No. 8426).
