rmaker, GM, Opel’s employees are going to have to make major sacrifices to save their firm. Carl-Peter Forster, CEO of GM Europe – GM’s European subsidiary and Opel’s parent company – warned, in an interview to the Bildzeitung (March 4), that Opel had to cut around 3.500 jobs. The day before, he increased pressure over European governments, saying that the group would have to close several sites in Europe if it didn’t get the requested public aid soon. (Ref. 090241)
