Germany: Deutsche Bahn’s ITC subsidiary DB Systel is undergoing major digital change
Deutsche Bahn’s ITC specialist subsidiary DB Systel has launched a radical transformation in its work organization that will affect its 4,000 workers. Already underway, the process has impacted almost 50% of the headcount as their work teams are redefined and they gradually move towards a new entity that has been nicknamed the ‘New world of work’. In short, the new internal structure is developing at the same time as the former structure is being dismantled. A year after three framework agreements on the issue were signed, the first DB Systel team will on 14 May migrate from the old structure to the new one. Klaus-Theo Sonnen Aures, head of the DB Systel central Works Council explains to Planet Labor how the ‘metamorphosis’ is to occur.
