Germany: Job cuts at Allianz trigger a controversy

7500 job cuts at Allianz. According to the daily newspaper Berliner Zeitung, the measures planned by the first German insurer are “without pity” and “of short sight”. According to the Berliner daily newspaper, Gerhard Rupprecht, president of the board of directors of Allianz Deutschland AG, tried not to look like a “cold manager without heart”, by explaining that the decisions were “very hard” to take. “Rupprecht is trying to avoid the fatal communication error, made last year by Josef Ackerman
