Eleven years after the building sector, the industrial cleaning sector is getting a minimum wage, which came into effect on July 1, 2007. Negotiated by social partners, this minimum wage now applies for all of the sector's employees, including for posted workers coming from a third country. (Ref. 070589)
“In the future, all employees of the industrial cleaning sector will receive an honest salary, whether they work for a company based in Germany or somewhere else”, Franz Müntefering, federal Labour Secretary, congratulated himself, adding that the “wage dumping” danger had thus been pushed aside.
