…Germany: new trends occurring in German company agreements
The union foundation holds the largest company agreements archives. Its WSI policy research institute carries out an annual study of German works councils (> 4,500 WCs are questioned). Using these two resources, and for the first time, the Hans-Böckler foundation has presented a study of current agreements including those negotiated in 2015. Entitled “2015 Company agreements – themes and distribution”, the study revealed two very different pictures – corresponding to before and after 2014. On the one hand we find the key issues underpinning the agreements with adapting working time as being the lynch pin and on the other hand new trends such as psychological risks, work life balance, teleworking, and nascent issues related to digitalization and labor rationalization.
