On 16 May, the social partners at Germany’s high-end car manufacturer Porsche announced they had signed a company agreement on ‘mobile work’. Among other things, this agreement provides for the possibility of working up to 12 days per month outside the company's premises, by way of a free ‘technical package’, while still complying with the conditions necessary for the appropriate functioning of the teams. Alongside this Porsche is intending to sharply reduce its office working space by 2025.
Extension of a 2018 agreement. Covid-19 has inevitably left its mark on how work is organized at Porsche. “With the pandemic, and in principle until the end of June, all non-production staff are teleworking 4 to 5 days a week. It is clear that this experience has changed attitudes towards working outside the company. This partly explains the new agreement. But only partly, because we had already laid the groundwork for this development with the teleworking agreement signed in 2018,” says...
