Germany: the construction workers’ trade union asks for a 5.5% wage increase in 2007

The federal tariff commission (Bundestarikomission) of the IG BAU announced, on Thursday January 18th 2007, that it would request a wage increase of 5.5% for the 680 000 employees of the sector. The trade union rejects the majority of employers' proposals. (Ref. 070050)

For IG BAU, the construction sector has finally exited 10 years of recession.
