On 12 and 13 May during a conference on the future of co-determination jointly organized by the Hans Böckler Foundation and the WZB Berlin Social Science Center, the Confederation of German Trade Unions (DGB) presented the MB-ix index (Mitbestimmungsindex). This index sets out to measure the relationship between the level of co-determination in companies and the sustainability of the strategies that these companies develop. This quasi-corporate social responsibility (CSR) index that examines both internally and externally will initially be calculated for all companies listed on the different Frankfurt stock markets. The goal is to reassess co-determination at a time when companies are stepping up their co-determination efforts.
MB-ix index to relaunch co-determination. The research institute, the WZB Berlin Social Science Center, together with the Confederation of German Trade Unions Hans Böckler Foundation have put the Mb-ix index together, which looks to measure the relationship between worker participation and influence.
