The number of fixed-term contracts increased by 4.6%, but temporary work is booming: +32.5%.  Last year, temporary work accounted for over 50% of salaried recruitments and affected 742,000 workers out of 30.9 million.  Besides, it is possible that the peak has yet not been reached: the federation of temporary work (BZA) is banking on another “two-figure” increase in 2011.  One million people could be recruited this way.
