On Friday 12 February 2016, the UK government confirmed that from 2018, companies employing more than 250 staff would be required to publish gender pay gap details. Education and Equalities Minister, Nicky Morgan also announced a second measure where the government will publish company pay gap league tables broken down by sector.
Back in the summer of 2015 the government had already announced that companies employing more than 250 staff would be required to publish gender pay gaps as well as data on bonuses paid to both men and women (c.f. article No. 8946).
