Deregulation of labor. To support employers, draft regulations which would have cost them £350M a year are cancelled, including the possibility to lodge a complaint for double discrimination contained in the Equality Act and the right to request time to train which should have been extended to businesses with less than 250 employees. Health and safety regulations are going to be lighter (see our dispatch No. 110189) and new restrictions on the ‘no win no fee’ legal services are going to be implemented. Besides, starting in April 2011, businesses with less than 10 employees will be covered by a moratorium so they will not be affected by the new labor regulations for three years.
