Great Britain: from working from home to “homing at work”

We know about the trend of working from home, which involves taking your computer or files back home with you. Now we have homing at work, where private activities invade one's professional life. According to a study by the recruitment firm Office Angels, conducted among 1 600 people, an increasing number of essential activities which are normally dealt with at home are now managed from the office. From paying bills and making dental appointments to organising one’s social life, British employees are increasingly tending to deal with such matters from their workplace. The recruitment firm Office Angels, which conducted the survey on this subject, explained that this trend results from a lack of time, related to long working hours and time wasted in traffic jams on the way to work or on public transport.
