Great Britain: guide on leading health and safety at work

The Institute of Directors (IoD, an association composed of leaders and board directors) and the Health and Safety Executive recently published a guide on health and safety in order to make leading teams and board members more responsible and to sensitize them to the interest in a "leadership for security at work". Unions deplore that this good practice guideline is not imposed by law. (Ref. 070914)

Whereas a new law on companies’ penal responsibility is going to come into effect in April 2008 (see our article No. 070685), a code of conduct on health and safety at work is going to be sent to the leaders of public and private companies throughout the country.
