While the Trade Union Bill, a bill on the right to strike, is currently being examined in the House of Lords, on Monday 08 February, Britain’s trade unions launched their ‘Heart Unions Week’ in a bid to prove the importance of union representation to workers.
“This government is determined to shift the balance of power in the workplace in favor of employers, and get the Trade Union Bill through Parliament with as little scrutiny as possible. We must not let them get away with it,” insisted the TUC secretary general Frances O’Grady.
