HSE’s resources are decreasing. The number of deadly industrial accidents has dangerously increased last year – +28% compared to 2007. One of the first causes might be 243 job cuts at the Health and Safety Executive, the organization in charge of inspections on the workplace. Even though the Ministry of Labor is going to reduce HSE’s resources again in the next couple years, unions would rather focus on the powers of health and safety representatives in terms of inspections.
