In Greece, since last season, tourism has been enjoying a bright spell that seems to be lasting. In this context, the new collective agreement for restaurant workers was signed on December 30 for the period covering 2014 and 2015. it provides that wage levels are maintained in 2013 and 2014 and a slight 1-percent increase in 2015.
It came into force on January 1, 2014 and will run until December 31, 2015. It follows the sectoral agreement signed in July 2012 and expired on December 31, 2013. The social partners started negotiating long before the deadline to ensure continuity, reaching an agreement by the end of 2013.
