An amendment to the Health and Safety Act of 1993 sets out special legal requirements for home workers in conjunction with the labor code provisions. Thus little attention has been paid to the health and safety of telecommuters, until a practical problem arose because of the application of two acts. Nowadays, more and more Hungarian companies hire teleworkers for special types of work, and it is therefore essential for companies employing home workers to have a correct understanding of both acts and their mutual relationship. Inspecting equipment. The Labor Code provides that, unless otherwise agreed, it is the employer’s obligation to provide teleworkers with the equipment necessary for work and communication.
