Hungary: Danone reorganizes its production at Györ

Management of Danone, owner of Györi Keksz, announced a reorganization of its production in the biscuit branch. The factory of Györ will no longer produce biscuits like the very famous Pilota, very appreciated by Hungarians. Danone intends to transfer the production to another Hungarian site. Local politicians have started fighting with Danone management and the trade unions are ready to negotiate advantageous indemnities. (Réf. 061268)

Danone would only produce candy at Györ. The current enrolment of the factory is 150 employees and the restructuring should lead to the shedding of about one hundred jobs. The new liberal mayor of Györ, Borkai Zsolt, discussed with the general manager of Danone biscuits in Hungary, Boris Bourdin.
