Inditex: the international framework agreement the group signed was used to defend union freedom at a Turkish supplier

The envoy of the CCOO Spanish union used Inditex’s framework agreement (AMI with the Spanish initials) to defend labor rights.  Isidor Boix, Fiteqa-CCOO representative, went on the premises to represent the International Textile, Garment and Leather Workers’ Federation (ITGLWF) alongside the Teksif Turkish union in the Hera Tekstil and Rok Tekstil companies, which belong to the Roteks Turkish group.  This group, which exclusively manufactures jeans for multinational brands, is one of Inditex’s largest suppliers in Turkey.  It also produces for H&M and Lindex (Denmark).  There are two plants: Hera Tekstil, in Ayfon (420 employees) and Rok Tekstil, in Izmir (160 employees).  H&M and Inditex each own 40 percent of the group’s production.
