The Health and Safety Authority – HSA* - published its work program for 2008. Some of the key-objectives are: a 10% increase of inspections on the workplace and the development of policies centred on high-risks sectors as well as some key hazards, such as chemical substances. (Ref. 080056)
The HSA’s main objective for 2008 is 10% increase in the number of workplace inspections this year to 17,500. In addition, HSA defined a series of general goals:
Increase employers and employees’ understanding of requirements and risks in terms of occupational health and safety;
Foster a culture of safety among managers of the future through regular training programmes;
Make information and guidance on occupational health and safety easily available to managers;
