Italy’s Parliament has converted the 01 May ‘Labour Decree’ into law. Amendments introduced during the parliamentary debate include in particular the refinancing of a number of measures designed to facilitate generational renewal and the requalification of employees, as well as a further extension of the right to smart working for certain categories of workers. The Labour Law also relaxes standards on the renewal of fixed-term contracts, bolsters workers' purchasing power, and simplifies procedures on transparent working conditions.
Law 85 of 03 July 2023, is the final version of the decree-law of 01 May, and brings about a series of changes to the labour legislation without fundamentally changing existing standards.
Generational renewal and requalification/reskilling of employees
