One of the main Italian call-centre companies, Atesia, which had been asked at the end of August by the labour inspectorate to permanently hire 3 200 precarious workers, has just won the first battle : the legal proceedings. The administrative court suspended, at the end of November, the labour inspectorate's decision, considering the latter could cause real damage to the firm. This decision is a setback for the Italian government, which is trying to moralize the call-centre sector and to diminish precarious employment. (Ref. 061226)
