On 17 July, the central union Cisl presented its annual Ocsel report that analyses over 2,000 company agreements negotiated in the period between 2016 and 2017. The report shows that decentralized industrial relations are alive and well and testify to the crisis being well and truly at an end. Agreements are increasingly less focused on headcount reduction and increasingly more focused on productivity related bonuses, the 'welfare company' and modernizing work organization.
Cisl secretary general, Luigi Sbarra commented thus, “During the past two years company-level collective negotiations have become more diversified and innovative as well as becoming deeper and broader in scope.”
