An Italian first, on November 25, the FILT/CGIL union together with DHL, ATV (local public transportation company in Veneto), Athena, Zust Ambrosetti, Hargartner terminal, Auroservice and Lega delle Cooperative signed a protocol to prevent and manage sexual harassment at work in the transport and logistics sectors. It provides for vigilance, control, female worker protection as well as appropriate personnel training. The union is looking to sign this agreement with the greatest number of business as possible in those sectors where women are a minority group and are often exposed to the risk of harassment.
This protocol transposes completely all related legal and collective agreement based provisions and has three goals: preventing and managing as quickly as possible cases of sexual harassment, supporting victims of harassment with all information and counseling tools necessary, and manage, in situations of harassment, a procedure aimed at protecting victims and re-establishing appropriate working conditions.
