Italy: One third of salaried employees earn less than 1000 euros a month

More than one third of Italian employees must live with less than 1000 euros (take home) per month, according to a study of the Institute of economic and social research (Ires) and the Italian general Confederation of labor (Cgil). (Ref.06863)

35 % of Italians are paid less than 1000 euros (take home) a month. Women are particularly badly off: 48.9 % of them earn less than that. Skilled workers are not spared: 30 % of them say they get less than 1000 euros. Approximately 4 million people in Italy work for less than 1000 euros a month.
