Italy: Uil inaugurates its XVI congress with a call for a general strike

On the eve of its XVI congress that closes today the Uil called for a general strike, in conjunction with the CGIL who had already done the same, for December 12. This strike action marks a shift in the confederation’s policy that today formally elects its new Secretary General.
