The Japanese government has just announced that employees subjected to unfair dismissal would soon be able to opt for financial compensation instead of taking up their former job. For the authorities this system of financial compensation is to “give employers and employees more options for diplomatically resolving problems arising from dismissals that are recognized before the courts as being unfair.
This proposed law is one of the decisions taken from among 182 recommendations presented to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in June 2015. These recommendations covering areas such as health and medical treatment, employment, agriculture, investment promotion, and regional renewal aim to secure economic growth.
