After months of debate, Luxembourg MPs approved the pension reform on 18 December 2025. While the statutory retirement age will remain at 65, workers will be required to stay in employment for longer to qualify for a full pension. From January 2026, the minimum contribution period will be extended in stages, increasing by a total of eight months between now and 2030, from 120 to 128 months.
