The Council of Government approved, on May 9, 2008, the bill introducing a linguistic leave which aims at creating an additional special leave to enable employees from all nationalities to learn the language or improve their knowledge to facilitate their integration into society through the labor market. The bill will be an additional chapter in the law of October 24, 2007 which created the individual training leave and shows the government’s will to strengthen vocational training. The right to the linguistic leave is not contingent upon residence. It concerns all employees working for an employer established in the Grand Duchy.
