On 23 July an agreement was signed between the Spanish CCOO union and textile giant Mango that aims to promote joint local trade union and CCOO action as well as monitoring visits to workplaces in order to check if commitments are indeed being upheld and to guarantee that working conditions are both decent and in accordance with ILO norms, right across the ready-to-wear clothing group’s global supplier network. This agreement impacts more than 500,000 employees working in 1,138 factories and workshops for the Mango brand across 17 different countries.
On 23 July, CCOO Industry Secretary General, Augustin Martin along with Mango Head of Operations, Carlos Costa both signed an agreement promoting trade union efforts and collective negotiations in a bid to guarantee decent working conditions among the group’s global supply network.
