Mexico: teleworking regulations come into force

The new regulation on teleworking, published in Mexico’s official gazette on 8 June, came into force on 5 December. It applies to companies with employees who do at least 40% of their work remotely. Companies are obliged to provide such staff with the tools they need to carry out their work, including an ergonomic chair, ensure that the location of work meets health and safety standards, and cover the associated costs, such as internet, electricity, telephone and printer.
