On 7 November, multinational oil and energy company TotalEnergies signed an agreement with all its trade unions, which mind RH has obtained. The agreement is aimed at employees who are caregivers in the company's 'common social basis' (socle social commun). The agreement provides for flexible working hours, the appointment of carer advisers and the retention of pay for any leave taken.
Although TotalEnergies already had a number of measures in place, this is the first agreement specifically devoted to employees who provide care. “Until now, the employer was a little cautious and cited the absence of a legal framework for introducing paid leave,” explains Geoffrey Caillon, CFDT coordinator within the group, adding: “We lost a lot of time as a result.” The agreement, which has been signed to cover the so-called common social basis – 14,000 of the group’s 35,000 employees in Fra
