Germany/ Metal industry agrees four-year limit for temporary workers.
Social partners in Germany’s metal industry – employers’ federation Gesamtmetall and the trade union IG Metall – are close to amending their collective agreement on temporary work (Tv LeiZ). The agreement will allow companies to take on temporary workers for a maximum of four years, as opposed to the two-year limit that is contained in the new law on temporary work, which came into force on 1 April (see article n° 9884).
